Hi folks. Hope all has been well with you.
Some quick cool news here. I entered for the 2011 Cover Contest of the Professional Photographer magazine (USA) earlier on in the year and out of over 6000 entries globally, I won 3rd place. The winning image was a moody poster portrait I did for my friend, Osemeke last February in Newcastle. My entry was also the only international entry that made it to the finals and top 14.
“Talk about intense. The lighting is dynamic and powerful, so the subject appears dynamic and powerful. The way the hood adds to the face is very dramatic. The photographer effectively draws the viewer’s attention right where it needs to be. He does many little things, like toning town the whiteness at the ends of the ties on the sweatshirt, where they hit the edge of the frame, so there aren’t any prominent white lines pulling your eyes from the image. That takes real skill.” … Helen Yancey,(Photog.M.Artist.MEI.Cr.Hon.M.Photog, CPP, API, F-ASP.) PPA International Photographic Competition Judge.
A Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod and Manfrotto 327RC2 head (both valued at $670) was the prize I opted for out of various options. Will be sharing images that the tripod will help create here most definitely in the future. Cheers.
